SAN FRANCISCO WEEKEND TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT IMPACTS NOVEMBER 19-22

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) advises San Francisco residents and visitors of the following event-related traffic and service impacts this weekend, Friday, November 19 through Monday, November 22.

Event participants and fun seekers should check sfmta.com or call 311 to find out which of Muni’s lines and routes will get them where they want to go.

Transbay Terminal Construction — Main Street

From 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday, construction at the Transbay Terminal will require intermittent lane closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night on Main Street between Mission and Howard streets.

The 5 Fulton Muni bus route will be affected throughout the construction period.

Transbay Terminal Construction — 1st Street

From 6 a.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Monday, construction at the Transbay Terminal will require the full closure of 1st Street between Mission and Howard streets for demolition work.

Multiple traffic detours will be in place for motorists using the 1st Street approach to the Bay Bridge :

Traffic from north of Market on Battery Street will detour via Clay, Davis and Beale streets to Howard Street .

Traffic traveling from eastbound Bush Street will detour south on Montgomery Street to New Montgomery Street , Hawthorne Street (via Howard) and then to Folsom Street.

The 76 Marin Headlands Muni route will be affected on Sunday.

This is the third of three weekends requiring a full closure of 1st Street between Mission and Howard. Parking Control Officers and San Francisco police officers will be deployed at 15 posts in the downtown and SOMA areas to monitor traffic.

49ers Football Game

The San Francisco 49ers will host their next home game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting at 1:05 p.m. at Candlestick Park .

Motorists should expect delays on all bridges and freeways leading into San Francisco for at least two hours before the start of the game and for at least two hours after the end of the game. Fans attending the games are encouraged to take public transportation. For more information, go to sfmta.com/football.

On game days, Muni offers several ways to get to Candlestick Park from throughout San Francisco . There are four Muni Express routes and two Shuttles.

The Muni Express route is Special Event Fare Service with an adult fare of $10 roundtrip and a youth/senior/disabled fare of $9 roundtrip. The Special Event fare with a Muni or CityPass is $7.

The Candlestick Shuttles are regular fare service, $2 adult cash fare per trip and $.75 for youth/senior/disabled cash fare per trip. All Muni customers who pay cash fare should be sure to ask for a transfer as proof of payment. Please go to sfmta.com for fare details.

For service to and from the game, T Third customers should transfer at the Gilman/Paul station to the 87 Candlestick Shuttle, which operates directly between the station and Candlestick Park .

· 77X Candlestick Express – to Van Ness and North Point

· 78X Candlestick Express – to California and Funston

· 79X Candlestick Express – to Kearny and Sutter

· 86 Candlestick Shuttle – to Bacon and San Bruno

· 87 Candlestick Shuttle – to Third Street and Gillman, T Third Station
