LEANNE BORGHESI makes her solo debut at San Francisco’s New Conservatory Theatre Center this month accompanied by musical director and pianist Scott Lacy. DIVALICIOUS is all about the big delicious songs from the deluxe and luscious divas of stage and screen. With vocal chops that blend amazing strength, fabulous musicianship, beautiful tonality, and powerful get-down Broadway-type belting, Leanne Borghesi is recognizably one of San Francisco’s hottest and most diverse celebrities. Her recent spectacular appearance as “Mona Kent” in DAMES AT SEA at New Conservatory Theatre won her the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle award as Best Supporting Actress In A Musical. She alternates as “Petrushka” in the long-running musical, PEARLS OVER SHANGHAI – an edgy and splendiferous dose of theatre ala Grand Guignol – where she also served as Associate Director.

Audiences at the Victoria Theatre went wild over her dynamic performance as “The Acid Queen” in Ray of Light’s production of THE WHO’S TOMMY. In a rare production of William Finn’s FALSETTOS produced by Theatre Rhino, Leanne received dazzling reviews for her definitive performance in the tour-de-force role of “Trina”. She has also become a popular guest artist at the REAF Help Is On The Way fundraiser for AIDS services and will be appearing again at this summer’s gala, August 15th, at the Herbst.

Alternative Nightlife crowds along with those surrounding the Civic Center music stages at SF PRIDE and the Castro Street Fair know her in the guise of her alter ego – the way-over-the-top, vocally ferocious and ultimately glamorous faux drag queen, “Ms. Anita Cocktail”. This month Leanne takes her one-woman-show to New York’s Metropolitan Room. DIVAlicious plays the Ed Decker Theater from August 4th – through Sunday, August 22nd.
