SAN FRANCISCO SUNDAY STREETS WEEKEND TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT IMPACTS – JULY 10-11

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) advises San Francisco residents and visitors of the following event-related traffic and service impacts this weekend, Saturday, July 10 through Sunday, July 11.

Event participants and fun seekers should check sfmta.com or call 311 to find out which of Muni’s lines and routes will get them where they want to go.

Treasure Island Triathlon

The Treasure Island Triathlon will be held this Saturday and Sunday.

Street closures on the following Treasure Island streets from 6 a.m., Friday to 8 p.m., Sunday will require the reroute of the 108 Treasure Island Muni bus route.

· Avenue M

· California Avenue

· Avenue H

· 13th Avenue

Avon Walk

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer will take place this weekend beginning at 7 a.m., Saturday from Fort Mason and at 7:30 a.m., Sunday from Crocker Amazon Park .

On Saturday, the route will take participants across the Golden Gate Bridge , and into Marin, back through Golden Gate Park to Crocker Amazon Park . Sunday’s route will have them leave Crocker Amazon Park and continue through McLaren Park , the Mission , Dolores Park, Alamo Square , along Market Street and The Embarcadero to Fort Mason .

No street closures will be required. Traffic will be controlled by SFPD.

Sunday Streets – Mission District

The sixth of nine Sunday Streets events will be held this Sunday in the Mission District. Sunday’s event is a three-mile route and includes street closures on portions of 24th Street , Harrison Street , Valencia Street and various adjacent streets from 24th and Potrero streets to Dolores Park. The route will be available for recreational activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free to all participants.

Major activity centers will feature dancing, yoga, bicycling and other activities. The locations are:

· Main Hub and children’s events at Garfield Park (26th and Harrison streets)

· Harrison Street between 26th and 17th streets

· Mission Playground ( Valencia and 19th streets)

· Bart Plaza (24th and Mission streets)

The following street closures will be required from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Harrison Street between 26th and 17th streets
24th Street between Potrero Street and San Jose Avenue
Valencia Street between 25th and 18th streets
19th Street between Mission and Dolores streets
Dolores Street between 20th and 18th streets
21st Street between Lexington and Guerrero streets
Capp Street between 23rd and 25th streets
Shotwell Street between 23rd and 25th streets

Cross traffic will be allowed at:

Folsom and Bryant streets at 24th Street
19th Street at Guerrero Street
24th Street at: Bryant Street , Folsom Street, South Van Ness Avenue and Mission Street
22nd and 20th streets at Harrison and Valencia streets
