Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returns home today after refusing any accomodation with the United States on East Jerusalem settlements.
Indeed, Netanyahu seems the only head of state worldwide who means business about national leadership.
While the United States struggles to reclaim moral credibility, Prime Minister Netanyahu is the model of moral clarity.
He well served a people, a nation, and a faith.
Civilizations rise and fall much like the American experiment rose and now totters — even as the people of the house of Judah remained true to themself, alone and under timeless assault for doing so.
It endures a revisionist world now demanding reconsideration by a soverign people of their borders, using the dainty phrase “pre-1967 borders.”
Israel was indeed living in peace with its neighbors within Israel borders of 1967 — only to have a war of annhilation thrust upon it by the Arab world.
Clarity: Arabia strated the 1967 war. Arabia lost the 1967 war. Deal with it.
Now Israel must deal with possibility of nuclear annhilation.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad states publicly Iran does not fear the death of its 15 million people through nuclear retaliation.
Why? Because 1.1 billion Muslims would remain in the world as half the world population of Jews would be eliminated. (This corner suspects Israel has the capacity to vaporize 600 million.)
Israel endures a world which presumptuously hypenates itself to Judiasm as “our Judeo-Christian heritage.”
Jews are not a hyphenated people, Israel is not hyphenated to what the world thinks of Jews, and Judaism is not a hyphenated religion
Jews are not the people who offer up the other cheek.
