DAMES AT SEA may be just the tonic to boost your Holiday Spirits. It is a must for fans of the dazzling choreographer Busby Berkely and those familiar “Unknown Becomes Broadway Star” film classics such as Gold Diggers of 1933 and Footlight Parade. Dames At Sea enjoyed its way Off-Off Broadway in 1966 at Caffe Cino, a spruced-up storefront in Greenwich Village. The production featured then unknown Bernadette Peters. Within three years the cast album was released and eventually the show was produced by local companies and schools across the land. The production now at the Decker Theatre at NCTC is smart-looking and packed with unstoppable energy. The cast includes Leanne Borghesi (Mona), John L. Cavellini (Dick), Christopher Nelson (Lucky), Kate Paul (Joan), Drew Todd (the Captain), and Rena Wilson (Ruby). Dames At Sea will remain in port until January 17th.
