When the story broke that Supervisor Chris Daly, an avowed critic of gentrification, had moved his wife and children to a home they bought in the suburbs, it kicked off a minor media frenzy.
There was just one segment of the media that was notably silent – Daly’s backers at the San Francisco Bay Guardian. In fact, some media outlets started to tease them for their lack of comment.
But late Friday afternoon, Guardian City Editor Steven T. Jones weighed in. He had questions about my Daly column and sent an e-mail demanding a response to several have-you-stopped-beating-your-wife questions in an e-mail.
