Sentinel Founder Pat Murphy was released today from St. Francis Hopsital with a diagnosis of emphysema and cirrhosis of the liver.
Murphy had been hospitalized five days for tests, treatment, and pain contol.
Emphysema is a disease of the lungs which develops over time without symptoms. When sysptoms develop they manifest in marked debility of breathing capacity.
Although Murphy’s last intake of alcoholic or non-prescribed drug occurred on June 5 l988, Murphy was diagnosed with cirrhosis which continued to develop over 20 years.
Murphy qualifies for liver rtransplant should the procedure become necessary.
New Sentinel Editor & Publisher Sean Martinfield is rising to the task of creating an expanded Santinel as are other Sentinel contributors.
Murphy will work with the Sentinel primarily to make instututional memory available to the expanding Sentinel, which soon will have an improved web design.
