KTVU reports names of finalist choices for San Francisco Police Chief post


The San Francisco Police Commission met a March 15th deadline Tuesday night when it provided Mayor Ed Lee a short list of candidates to fill the city’s open Police Chief position.

After an over two hour closed-door meeting, the seven member commission came up with a list of at least three finalists for the job. Police Commission President Thomas Mazzucco was keeping mum on the list.

“We’ve chosen in our closed session not to disclose this,” said Mazzucco.

But KTVU has learned that a total of six internal candidates along with outside finalists were interviewed for the job by the commission.

Those internal candidates were: Captain Al Casciato, Commander Jim Dudley, Interim Police Chief Jeff Godown, Commander Dan Mahoney, Captain Anne Mannix and Captain Greg Suhr.
